Biography
A Tennessee original
Todd Quillen was raised in Morristown, Tennessee, thirty miles east of Knoxville in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. His was the typical childhood of a small-town Southern boy: hunting, fishing, Boy Scouts, baseball, go-karts and county fairs. If it could be done, he did it.
The youngest of three boys, he learned early that the surest way to get the family’s attention was to earn it. He became the constant entertainer, from class president to class clown. He performed in every school play, sang with the Tennessee All-State Choir, sang for the Lord Mayor of London, performed for the United States Congress at the Capitol, and attended East Tennessee State University on a full voice scholarship.
Growing up in the South put him alongside people of every background and left him with a thirst to see the world. He saved every vacation day for an overseas adventure, and has visited 49 of the 50 United States.
In 2002 Todd left a steady career and moved to Los Angeles, training with coaches who drew on the characters he had known all his life. Since then he has built a career across independent film, national commercials, theatre, voiceover and series television, from HBO’s True Blood to CBS’s Intelligence and the feature Straight Outta Compton.
